The Family Behind Rivendell Haven...

For owners Patrick Bentivegna and Adele Lee, Rivendell Haven is much more than a collection of vacation rentals; It represents years of creativity, restoration, travel, design, and a shared belief that where you stay should be a memorable part of the journey.

A musician, Patrick spent more than 25 years touring with artists and bands including Mastodon, Thornley, Big Wreck, and Matisyahu, while also pursuing his own music with his original band, HAARD. After years on the road, Patrick turned his creative energy toward real estate and hospitality. Adele is from Belfast, Northern Ireland, and moved to the USA in 2016 as a Shakespeare scholar. She is currently a professor at Emerson College where she teaches English Literature and Drama. They met in 2017 and together they developed a passion for finding distinctive places and giving them new life.

Their most ambitious restoration project was the historic Daniels House Inn c.1667 in Salem, Massachusetts. Together they restored this centuries-old property, receiving a historic preservation award for their work. Today, they continue to operate the Daniels House as Salem’s oldest inn, welcoming travelers from around the world.

That experience helped shape the philosophy they bring to Rivendell Haven.

Two Different Talents, One Shared Vision

Patrick and Adele are a natural team. Patrick focuses much of his energy on finding properties, overseeing renovations, and bringing the practical side of each restoration together. Adele brings an exceptional eye for interior design, blending historic influences with modern comfort.

Their properties aren't selected from a formula. They are handpicked, renovated, furnished, and decorated individually, allowing each one to retain its own personality.

The couple also started Stay Chalet vacation rentals to facilitate the day-to-day operations of their vacation homes and stream line the guest experience.

A Family Business

Perhaps most importantly, this really is a family business. Patrick and Adele's daughters, Lucia and Evie, have grown up in the family's properties and enjoy being part of what their parents have created. They enjoy greeting guests and meeting the other children who visit with their families from all over the world.

That family perspective influences the way Patrick and Adele think about their guests. They know that a vacation isn't simply about having somewhere to sleep. It's about time together—morning coffee overlooking the river, dinner on the deck, evenings around the fire, and the memories made from outdoor adventures.

Their goal, then, is to offer something increasingly difficult to find: vacation rentals that feel personal rather than corporate. Places with character and history, thoughtfully updated for today's traveler without losing the qualities that made them special in the first place. So whether you're visiting for a family vacation, a romantic weekend, a ski trip, or simply a few quiet days beside the river, Patrick, Adele, Lucia, and Evie hope you'll feel genuinely at home:)
