3) Septic System - Please avoid putting the following down any drains: cooking oils, solid food waste, coffee grinds, paper towels, sanitary products, hazardous household chemicals, including bleaches, detergents, disinfectants, gasoline, paint , drain cleaners, motor oil, etc. Do not use too much toilet paper per flush to avoid clogging of the system.

4) Winter Season - Due to the salt used in the area, please no wet shoes in any if the rental units. This will damage the floors and increase the time spent for cleaning services/maintenance and may result in additional cleaning fees.

5) Noise Ordinance - The chalets belong to communities that are quiet places for vacationers and residents and we ask that you please be respectful to others and abide by ordinance rules:
a) No parties, yelling or loud music (quiet between 11 pm - 7 am)
b) No practice shall be permitted that could be of annoyance to other residents.

6) Trash and Recycling - Please pick up after yourself and do not litter or dispose of trash around the premises of the community. There are several types of animals in the White Mountains that will get into the trash and make a mess of the premises and in many instances damage the property. Please make sure trash is securely tied and disposed of appropriately. Instructions for each particular property and the disposal methods will be disclosed in the guidebook you will have access to via your guest portal once you complete the pre check-in. There will also be a physical copy of the guidebook in each chalet. If trash is not disposed of in accordance to the house rules there may be an additional cleaning charge.
Rivendell Haven and the River Ellis Chalet have a dumpster onsite of which you can dispose of all trash.

For guests staying at the Idylweiss Chalet in Madison:
Guests must take all trash that is accumulated during the stay off the property before checking out.
For your safety and to avoid costly damage/repairs being made to the property from any of the wildlife, please make sure to NEVER leave trash in the screened in porch. Bears and raccoons especially will tear right through the screens to get into the trash and have a feast for themselves.
As long as there is NOT trash being left in this screened in porch you will not have problem.

Please use the supplied bear proof trash barrel that will be just outside the chalet under the deck stairs. This is temporary storage container that you can use until you are ready to take the trash to the transfer station. There will be instructions for how to use the bear proof trash barrels in the guide book.

If any trash is left on the property there may be an additional charge of up to $100 for trash removal.
If the Madison Transfer station is not open on the days of your departure It may be advised to take the trash the day before and our take some bags with you.
